What this article covers

This article shows you how to:

  • Open your Business Profile

  • Add or update your billing details (company name, Tax ID / VAT, address)

  • Understand how Tax ID verification works

🔎 Why we ask for this:

Bespot Gatekeeper is currently available only to registered businesses in EU countries.

We use your business details to validate your account, comply with tax rules, and issue correct invoices.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • A Bespot Gatekeeper account

  • Permission to manage billing for your company

  • Your company’s legal details:

    • Company name

    • Tax ID / VAT / EIN

    • Registered business address (street, city, postal code, EU country)

And for later, when you choose a plan:

  • A valid payment method (credit/debit card or other supported method)

  • You must have both your business details and a payment method added before you can complete plan selection.

Step 1 – Sign up or log in

  1. Open the Gatekeeper dashboard in your browser.

  2. Sign up or log in with your account.

  3. You’ll land on the Home view of the dashboard.

Step 2 – Go to Business Profile

You can access your business profile from either:

  • Home → Setup guide

    • In the “Setup guide” card, click Go to Profile
      or

  • Settings → Business Profile

    • In the left sidebar, click Settings, then Business Profile

You’ll see two panels:

  • Profile Info – name, company, website, etc.

  • Billing Info – details used on invoices and stored in Stripe

Step 3 – Open the Billing Info form

  1. In the Billing Info panel, click Edit billing info.

  2. A form titled Business Information Required opens on the right.

This is the information that will be sent to our payment provider (Stripe) and printed on your invoices.

Step 4 – Fill in your business details

Complete the required fields:

  • Company Name – your legal entity name

  • Tax ID / VAT / EIN – your business tax identifier (for example, EL801070388)

EU VAT format:

Use the two-letter country code followed by your VAT number, exactly as it appears in your national/EU records (no spaces or dashes).

Examples: DE123456789, FR12345678901

You can verify your VAT number format on the official EU VIES service.

  • Country – must be an EU country where your business is registered

  • Business Address – street and number

  • City

  • State / Province (optional, depending on your country)

  • Postal Code

When you’re done, click Save.

You’ll see a small confirmation message (for example, “Saved – Will sync to Stripe when you add a payment method”) above the Billing Info card.

Tip: These details will be used for all invoices issued for this workspace.

If your legal entity changes, contact us before making changes so we can keep your billing history consistent.

Step 5 – Wait for Tax ID / VAT verification

After you save, Gatekeeper sends your Tax ID / VAT to Stripe for verification.

This usually takes around one minute.

You’ll know it’s verified when:

  • A green check icon appears next to Tax ID / VAT, and

  • A tooltip, such as “Stripe verified your tax identification number”, shows when you hover.

Once verification succeeds, the Billing Info panel is locked for the current billing cycle to keep invoice history consistent.

How to check everything is correct

You’ve successfully updated your business details when:

  • The Business Profile page shows your company name, address, and a verified Tax ID / VAT (green check).

  • The Billing Info card shows your EU country and address exactly as you expect them to appear on invoices.

What’s next?

Once your business details are set up and verified, the next step is to:

  1. Add a payment method in Settings → Subscription & Billing.

  2. Then choose a pricing plan or start a free trial from the Pricing Plans or Subscription & Billing sections.

Reminder: You need both verified business details and a stored payment method in order to complete plan selection.

After that, you can continue with the rest of the setup guide:

  • Generate API keys

  • Create and configure applications and workspaces

  • Set up security policies and rules for your fraud scenarios
